Podiatry (/poʊˈdaɪ.ətri/) or podiatric medicine (/poʊdiˈætrɪk, -ˈdaɪ.ətrɪk/) is a branch of medicine devoted to the study, diagnosis, and medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity.
Dr. Michael Ball
Dr Michael Ball hails from Toronto. He finished his Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto. He then went on to study podiatry at the Michener Institute and Toronto General hospital / University Health Network. He established a clinic at the Toronto Grace Hospital. He completed a residency in pharmacology while at the hospital. In 1999, he joined the Westman Foot clinic and joined the practice as a partner in 2001. In 2009, he completed requirements to perform injectables such as corticosteroids.
In May 2023, after new regulations passed, he obtained the educational requirements to prescribe medications to his patients.
As an avid runner himself, he has an particular interest in musculoskeletal and sports injuries of the foot, ankle and lower limb. Also, he is interested in Diabetic foot complications and wound management. He enjoys continuing education in this area to keep abreast of the current best practices. Also, he studied joint manipulation of the foot and ankle. He enjoys building relationships with other health providers in the community to optimize patient care. He currently sits as the Vice Chair of the council of the College of Podiatrists of Manitoba. He is also the chair of the regulatory body complaints committee.
He likes gardening, travel, music ( violin and piano) and running. He is also studying Spanish.
Dr. Rob Bellmont
Dr. Rob Bellmont graduated in 1982, furthering his education in surgery. He worked in Health Service Management and clinics before moving to Canada in 2003.
He has presented scientific papers on Pain management in England, Austria and Canada and is published in both England and Canada.
He has an interest in expanding his knowledge, recently, undertaking courses in Chiropractic manipulation of the foot and Diagnostic Ultrasound.
Away from the office he enjoys Target shooting, riding his motor bike and piloting small airplanes at the local flying club.
Samantha
Samantha grew up in the West-Man area and, while still new to being a Podiatry/office Assistant, is loving being able to see and help people on a daily basis. She enjoys spending time with her son and their growing collection of houseplants and aquarium fish.
Michelle Dryden
Footcare Nurse. Born and raised in a Brandon. Graduated from the Practical Nursing program at ACC in 2006. Working in a variety of settings including, rural, personal care, hospital, and home care. Michelle developed a passion for wound care of the lower legs and feet during her time as a Home Care Nurse in Brandon. Michelle is passionate about patient teaching and assisting in preventing lower limb complications.
Michelle completed her Nursing Foot Care training in 2023. She is a member of the Manitoba Association of Foot Care Nurses as well as the Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses.
A wife and mother of two amazing school aged children, Michelle enjoys camping, traveling and crafting in her free time.
